Graduated from San Jose State University in 1977 with a B.A. in Liberal Studies.

Upon graduating, taught all grade levels in elementary until finding her niche in the junior high level in 1981.

Went back to school to complete supplementary authorization units in both Math and English.

Taught junior high math and reading for 7 years and has been teaching 7th and 8th grade language arts for the past 15 years — most recently teaching 7th grade honors for past 5 years and piloted LINC (Literacy integrated through curriculum) program for past two years.

Volunteer STHS Athletic Booster Club member 4 yrs — awarded Outstanding Booster Club Member of the Year in 2004 — given lifetime pass to all STHS activites/athletic events, CJSF advisor for 5 years, voted Most Caring Teacher 2000 by student body, Exemplary Employee Award ’07.
